Beach Cottage

Bedrooms: 1  |  Sleeps: 2

If you’re looking for a real chance to escape the ordeals of everyday life, Beach Cottage is perfect. It’s situated next to the unspoiled Lincolnshire Coastal Park, with its abundant bird life, flora and fauna. So you can spend your days on the beach and exploring the area, then return to your own private haven at the end of the day.

Approached by steps both at the front and rear, it is beautiful all year-round. The spectacular extensive beach offers an ever-changing seascape to enjoy whatever the weather or temperature.

NB: The cottage is accessed via some steps which is a right of way. The steps are uneven and therefore extra care and attention should be taken when both ascending and descending.

**One well behaved dog is welcome at Beach Cottage, however please be aware that the garden is not fully enclosed.**

Property details

High-quality furnishings and interior design at Beach Cottage make this a truly wonderful retreat.

It has an open-plan living area on the ground floor. The fully-equipped kitchen has an electric oven, hob, microwave, fridge and a small counter top freezer (which is in a cupboard under the stairs), dishwasher and washer/dryer. There is a sitting and dining area, with a TV, DVD player, Sonos Music System, local information folders and reference books for wild flowers and birds. The wood-burning stove is perfect to relax in front of on cold nights, listening to the waves crash onto the beach outside. There’s also underfloor heating downstairs (with radiators upstairs) so you’ll be nice and toasty during your time here. This space leads onto the beach room, with decking beyond and an outside shower.

There is a separate WC on the ground floor with a small hallway and stable door (good for toddlers/children and dogs). The bunk bed room (2 bunk beds suitable for children) is also downstairs.

Upstairs is the master bedroom (6′ bed or two 3′ single beds) with French doors that open onto a decked veranda, where you can take in breath-taking views of the sand and sea. It has an en-suite bathroom with a large walk in shower and special ‘Tub Bath’.

Outside, the sheltered summer house (tucked below the cottage) is a favourite with guests. They love being able to make the most of the afternoon and evening sunshine – it’s perfect for barbecues.

Please note the ceiling levels in parts of the shower room/bathroom are not consistently the same height.

The cottage has PV panels and electric boiler.

Address

Beach Cottage
The Dell Anderby Creek
Skegness

Getting there

10 miles from Skegness. Train station linking to the main line Eastern Regional Service at Grantham. Can also link via Doncaster and Peterborough – East Midlands Trains. There is a 9S Skegness Call Connect bus service but a taxi will probably be easiest (22 mins). Following the A153 – leaving A1 at Grantham 57 miles to Anderby Creek (up to one and a half hours travel time). Lincoln to Anderby Creek 43 miles. Humberside Airport to Anderby Creek 47 miles.

From the North

  1. M180 (east) to Scunthorpe/Grimsby
  2. Exit J5
  3. A18 to Humberside Airport, Grimsby
  4. Follow A18 (crossing A46 at Laceby Roundabout and B1203 at Ashby Hill)
  5. Join A16 at Ludborough, head South to Louth
  6. Follow A16 until Ulceby Cross Roundabout (Spar Garage)
  7. Turn left to Alford on A1104
  8. Go through town centre, and as you are beginning to feel you are through, with windmill on left, turn right to Bilsby on A1111
  9. In village of Bilsby, pass Garage and Church and take right (another windmill without sails on left) on B1449 to Anderby, Mumby and Thurlby
  10. Continue past Thurlby motors, don’t take left to Huttoft. Just after, go through traffic lights over bridge. After almost 2 miles turn left on A52 (signposted to Huttoft, Anderby and Sutton on Sea). As you approach Huttoft village, turn right to Anderby on a sharp left hand bend. (As you turn right you will see Flogas depot on left and small farm shop on you right).
  11. Anderby Village is long and straggly (2-3 miles), keep going until you reach a T-junction (there is a pumping station on the left and a farmyard visible to the right).
  12. Turn left to Anderby Creek and Sandilands.
  13. After approx 200 yds turn right to Anderby Creek.
  14. Go past an assortment of static caravan sites, Popa’s Bar and the Creek Tavern (yes we are being serious!) before coming to a small roundabout. You will see a public car park to the left, the slipway to the sea straightahead and the cafe to the right.
  15. Turn right into the Dell, proceed slowly past the cafe, past Antoinette, you will see a green space and parking slot saying ‘Beach Cottage only’.
  16. Please park there and follow the directions to the cottage above. If you have a day visitor please note that they must park in the public car park which is free of charge.

From the South

Potentially you have a myriad of options. Suspect sat nav will suggest exit A1 at Peterborough and follow A16. Our suggestion is:

  1. A1 North
  2. Leave A1 at Colsterworth on B6403 to Ancaster (you actually cross the A52 which is the same road you will go on within 5 miles of your destination..)
  3. At Ancaster turn right on to A153
  4. Stay on A153, on Sleaford by-pass
  5. Follow signs for Horncastle
  6. Stay on A153 past Billinghay, through Tattershall and Conningsby
  7. At roundabout north of Conningsby take right on to A155 (Spilsby, Skegness) Continue through Mareham, Revesby, East Kirkby
  8. Turn left at West Keal on to A16
  9. Stay on A16, by passing Spilsby and Partney
  10. When you reach Ulceby Cross Roundabout go straight over on to A1104 and follow instructions above.

Routes from Midlands:

Depending where you are travelling from….aim at Ulceby Cross roundabout via either Louth or Horncastle.
